    PAVE Schools, Inc. (PAVE) prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE supports the establishment and operation of:


    • PAVE Red Hook, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2017 – 2018, PAVE Red Hook will educate 480 Kindergarten – 8th grade scholars.
    • PAVE Southeast, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Raleigh, NC.  In 2017-2018 PAVE Southeast will educate 320 Kindergarten – 3rd grade scholars.
    • Future schools founded on the core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character.


    PAVE Southeast Raleigh is looking for a Food Service Coordinator who is serve safe certified, has experience completing production records and overseeing a school HACCP plan. The Food Service Coordinator will arrive early to warm and prepare catered breakfast, lunch, and snack for Kindergarten through Third Grade students in addition to receiving, warming, and plating of bulk service food, operating the Point of Sale (POS), and placing weekly orders. The Food Service Coordinator will work Monday through Thursday from 6am to 2pm and on Friday's from 6am to 1pm. The Food Service Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Operations.

    • Serves food to students in portions to meet the mandated USDA guidelines.
    • Serves a large volume of a catered food to students at school sites as specified by the
    • menus, and production records.
    • Arranges food and beverage items for the purpose of serving them to students
    • in an efficient manner.
    • Assists with making sure all students have the required components to qualify for a
    • reimbursable meal.
    • Assists in receiving and storing foods, condiments, and supplies to maintain adequate
    • quantities and item security.
    • Assists in clean-up of serving counters, food prep areas, milk cooler and cashier areas.
    • Ensures that all transportation records are completed on a daily basis.
    • Sets up and merchandises food and food service areas and serves food.
    • Utilizes kitchenware such as, but not limited to spatulas, tongs, spoons, and ladles.
    • Practices safe food handling according to Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point
    • HACCP, Wake County Health Department, and PCS Food Services Standard Operating
    • Procedures.
    • Assists in the monitoring, reduction, and management of food waste.
    • Clean and sanitize pans and kitchen utensils.
    • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning of the service areas and
    • transportation equipment.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.


    Required Experience:

    • ServSafe certified
    • Experience overseeing the execution of HACCP binder, delivery tickets, and production records
    • Experience serving in a school cafeteria preferred
    • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods used in a food service environment
    • Customer Service experience

    Special Physical Requirements:

    • Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
    • Stand and walk on concrete and tile floors for long periods of time
    • Withstand a wide range of temperatures
    • Work in refrigerated areas
