ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

PAVE Schools, Inc. (PAVE) prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the organization’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character. PAVE supports the establishment and operation of:

 

  • PAVE Red Hook, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2017 – 2018, PAVE Red Hook will educate 480 Kindergarten – 8th grade scholars.
  • PAVE Southeast, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Raleigh, NC.  In 2017-2018 PAVE Southeast will educate 320 Kindergarten – 3rd grade scholars.
  • Future schools founded on the core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character.

OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

PAVE Schools seeks a Data and Systems Manager to serve as a critical member of the Network Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Network Operations and Analytics, the Data and Systems Manager will manage the logistical and technical aspects of different data systems, and data needs for the organization. The Data and System Manager will work closely with school staff to ensure systems are running effectively and data is presented in a timely manner. While in-school work experience is a plus, we are open to career-changers who come from working with different technology platforms, data systems, and building both regular and ad-hoc reports.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

Data Analysis and Management

  • Improve processes to ensure consistency and accuracy of information across multiple student information systems, including but not limited to ATS, PowerSchool, Illuminate and Kickboard
  • Assist with the creation of reports and data summary overviews for Network and school-based leadership
  • Collaborate with PAVE’s Network Team to ensure timely reporting for accountability, development, and oversight/compliance purposes
  • Oversee logistical aspects of PAVE’s regional assessment program to ensure completeness and accuracy


Systems Management

  • Manage school-level platforms, systems, services and user accounts while retaining data integrity and security
  • Support basic user help requests (e.g. new employee accounts and password resets) for technology systems, such as Google Suite
  • Oversee the implementation and management of non-standard technology and school-level systems that effectively forecast the growth of PAVE Schools
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining staff and student accountability systems related to technology
  • Maintain and monitor the inventory of technology assets, including licenses
  • Distribute and collect staff technology related to new hires and terminations
  • Train teachers and administrative staff in the use our technology tools, from Apple products, MS Office to PowerSchool

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain current and up-to-date expertise in a wide range of hardware, software, services, cloud-based and iOS operating systems
  • Proficiency in navigating web-based applications
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills (PivotTables, Conditionals, VLOOKUP, array formulas) are required
  • Customer service oriented and ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Comfort learning new computer programs with the ability to ‘ramp up’ quickly on new tasks
  • Ability to prepare deliverables based on quantitative analysis in the form of graphs, PowerPoint presentations and written reports
  • Ability to make data and research clear and accessible to a wide variety of audiences
