PAVE Schools, Inc. (PAVE) prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the organization’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character. PAVE supports the establishment and operation of:


  • PAVE Red Hook, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2018 – 2019, PAVE Red Hook will educate 490 Kindergarten – 8th grade scholars.
  • PAVE Southeast, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Raleigh, NC.  In 2018-2019 PAVE Southeast will educate 400 Kindergarten – 4th grade scholars.
  • Future schools founded on the core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character.


PAVE SE seeks an Elementary Discipline and Culture Coordinator (DCC) to start immediately. In collaboration with the Elementary School Principal and Dean, the DCC will support the programs that recognize and reward students as well as hold them accountable to choices that they make. This individual will need exemplary communication skills to work closely with key leaders in the school to communicate with students’ parents/guardians, and ensure that consequences for infractions are fairly and consistently implemented throughout the school. The partnership between the Principal and Discipline Coordinator will seek patterns of misbehavior and coordinate appropriate measures to ensure a healthy and positive school culture. The DCC will report directly to the Elementary School Principal.

  • Constantly uphold school-wide expectations and be a model of consistency with discipline systems
  • Monitoring of students at common meal times and other transition times throughout the day
  • Monitor scholars sent out of class during class time
  • Log all scholar referrals, and log time-out-of-class for individual scholars to minimize time away from learning
  • Maintain all school-wide discipline through consistent follow-through of system implementation
  • Work with Principal to coordinate in-school and out-of-school suspensions, ensuring regulatory compliance; and overseeing safety of all students
  • Contact families to arrange meetings, including maintaining family contact logs and conference logs
  • Organize and monitor student attendance and behavior
  • Communicate regularly with students, staff, and families about progress and set-backs of individual scholars in detention
  • Cultivate a culture of discipline and attention to details among all students and staff
  • Follow-up with teachers about behavior and strategies for scholars in the dean’s office
  • Track and log behavior incidents,
  • Track positive behavior trends for individual scholars, and collaborate with school leaders to ensure that positive behaviors are celebrated and recognized; this includes but is not limited to tracking and maintaining logs of student “Brick Winners” each week


  • A strong commitment to PAVE’s mission and vision
  • Bachelor’s degree, or pursuit of, required
  • Minimum 2 years school-based work experience
  • Excellent team player, with willingness to be hands-on and do whatever it takes to support the success of PAVE
  • A positive, high-energy attitude and a drive for personal excellence
  • Strong skills in following-through, finishing what is started, and striving for excellence
  • Tremendous organizational skills and attention to detail and a knack for consistency
  • Open to learning, willing to grow, and passionately seeking opportunities to be involved in the charter education movement of academic excellence and high rigor
