    PAVE Schools, Inc. (PAVE) prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the organization’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance, and Excellent character. PAVE supports the establishment and operation of:

     

    • PAVE Red Hook, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2018 – 2019, PAVE Red Hook will educate 490 Kindergarten – 8th grade scholars.
    • PAVE Southeast, a Kindergarten – 8th grade public charter school in Raleigh, NC.  In 2018-2019 PAVE Southeast will educate 400 Kindergarten – 4th grade scholars.

    OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

    PAVE Southeast seeks a full time bilingual English/Spanish speaking School Operations Manager. The School Operations Manager is responsible for supporting school-based staff with office management duties, student services, event planning, family and parent communication/engagement, coordinating academic testing, managing student recruitment and enrollment, and supporting with and managing special projects. As part of a growing and fast-paced organization, the candidate must be a team player who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and support the Operations Team and School Leadership Team with varied responsibilities. The School Operations Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and should expect to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and occasionally during additional times as requested.

    HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

    Student Recruitment and Enrollment

    • Supervises and coordinates all aspects of student recruitment and enrollment, including hosting open houses, tours, information sessions.
    • Provides direction to Leadership Team on student recruitment and enrollment efforts by analyzing data in SchoolMint.
    • Develop and manage student recruitment marketing strategy, including creating posters, cultivating relationships with local pre-k and daycare organizations, organizing application drop-off nights, etc.
    • Serve as point person to run the student lottery in SchoolMint; organize logistics for lottery night.
    • Manage new student and returning student registration in SchoolMint.
    • Work with families to ensure proper documentation and registration is met per school and state regulations.

     

    Student Testing

    • Supervises and coordinates all aspects of student testing operations, including responsibility for coordinating operational logistics, ordering testing materials, test scheduling, classroom setup, accommodation arrangements, scanning of test booklets for North Carolina State Exams and PAVE Interim Assessments.
    • Provides direction to Network Curriculum and Leadership Teams on North Carolina testing requirements.
    • Serve as testing coordinator and attends NCDPI test coordinator trainings.
    • Work with Leadership Team to generate student report cards and progress reports.

     

    Family & Parent Communication/Engagement

    • Coordinate communications from parents and provides directions to staff on daily student transportation changes.
    • Develop and post updates for parent and families on Facebook, Remind, Instagram, and any other parent family communication platform.
    • Manage communications for report card nights, back to school night, performances, etc.
    • In concert with School Leadership Team, prepare and administer monthly family newsletter.

     

    Office Management

    • Manage operations of the school’s main office, including maintaining clean and professional space, managing mail, and answering phones.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all visitors.
    • Complete all necessary school-wide duties for the successful and orderly functioning of the school and other such duties as the Executive Director may from time to time request.

     

    Student Services, Event Planning and Execution

    • Manage and operationalize logistics of student arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
    • Help plan and manage logistics and preparations for school events, field trips, and activities as needed (make photocopies, set up for special events, make phone calls, confirm attendance, coordinate and arrange field trip reservations and transportation, develop event “show flows” etc.).
    • Serve as backup responder for student medical and first aid issues.

     

    After School Program Management

    • Manage relationship with after-school programs (e.g. Kidznotes, YMCA, Loaves & Fishes, The Fletcher Academy, Boys and Girls Club), including coordinating logistics and program requirements.
    • Manage the late student pick-up program, includes calling families who are late to pick up their students, staying with the students who have not been picked up yet.

    • Two or more years of experience in an office environment, preferably an education-related organization
    • Hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized 4-year college
    • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking ability is required
